Idiom Decision Manager: IDIOM Single User Edition, IDIOM Standard Edition and IDIOM Enterprise Edition.
The IDIOM Decision Manager can be purchased under a annual or perpetual licensing plans. Plan transitions are possible - contact us for details.
The IDIOM 'Assisted Pilot' Model
The assisted pilot model is designed for prospective purchasers who want to evaluate the full featured IDIOM Decision Manager, which is available in Single User, Standard and Enterprise Editions. The difference between these product editions is the number of decision designers allowed to use the Decision Manager concurrently (unlimited named users are allowed under all models). These licenses only permit development of your own proprietary decision models - development of decision models that are the property of third parties is not permitted (software vendors please see Technology Partnerships - this is a more cost effective option).
IDIOM understands that buying a decision automation tool is a strategic decision with longer term implications. For this reason we encourage you to take the time to fully appreciate and evaluate the implications of purchasing a tool like IDIOM. We have worked hard to ensure that IDIOM imposes the smallest possible architectural impediment; and to leave your strategic technology options as open as possible. IDIOM does not require you to implement or register any runtime software; we provide you with all runtime source code (either Java or C#) so that we can never "switch you off"; and we also give you license free access to your decision designs in both "logical English" and standard XML forms - our contracts expressely ensure that you have uncontested title to all of your design meta data.
IDIOM does not "lock you in" - you are only committed to IDIOM for as long as our tool remains the most effective tool on the market for capturing your decision designs and turning them into efficent, auditable, industrial strength computer code. That is our mission and our promise!
The 'assisted pilot' engagement model is our response to these purchasing concerns. It is designed to allow you to progress your purchasing decision in a short series of small, risk averse, low cost steps, each of which proceeds at your discretion. At the end of this engagement cycle you will have a good understanding of the value that IDIOM will bring to your business and development processes without significant cost or commitment - so that your eventual purchase choice is fully informed and as low risk as you choose to make it. We strongly believe that you need to see, touch, feel, and experience the IDIOM products to make this a reality.
Step 1: IDIOM consultants will present one-on-one GoToMeeting demonstration sessions to preview the IDIOM products and their capabilities and to discuss your business and your needs. If you then wish to see how IDIOM can be applied to your business, proceed to Step 2.
Deliverable: Customer insight.
Customer cost: Zero.
Step 2: You nominate a small pilot application to be used as a proof-of-concept. IDIOM will work (virtually) with you to understand the high level requirements and project objectives, and to estimate the development effort. IDIOM has a purpose built contract that mutually protects both yours and our IP, and which reduces mutual obligations and commitment to a minimum. If you agree to start the pilot your greatest exposure is to 1 day of consulting effort by IDIOM. You are now ready for Step 3.
Deliverable: Contract with supporting development definition and estimate.
Customer cost: Zero.
Step 3: The pilot application is developed jointly with your 'subject matter experts' and technical representatives working with IDIOM Consultants. The team usually works virtually but can be on-site subject to agreed expenses. The method and extent of involvement of each participant is determined uniqely for each engagement.
Deliverable: A small decision centric application.
Customer cost: 'Time and Materials' at IDIOM's standard consultant rates.
Step 4: At the conclusion of the pilot development, you take ownership of the solution IP, including source code for all runtime components. At this time you will need to consider your next step:
- Choice 1 - Assume management of the source code without further recourse to IDIOM.Deliverable: All existing source code in the solution.- Choice 2 - Continue using IDIOM consultants to further develop the pilot and other applications, but not to purchase an Idiom product license.
Customer additional cost: Zero.
Deliverable: Further application development as may be agreed.- Choice 3 - Purchase one of the IDIOM product editions and take custody of the IDIOM design artifacts produced during the pilot (i.e. the various product models developed during the pilot)
Customer additional cost: 'Time and Materials' at IDIOM's standard consultant rates.
Deliverable: IDIOM Product and License; All design artifacts including IDIOM Repositories, Forms, Process configurations, etc
Customer additional cost: IDIOM Decision Manager license fee.
